Reclaiming engagement as the cornerstone to improvement.
Engagement. It is the improvement piece to the Just Be Nice Project.
A balanced measurement system should look at performance markers (end goals) and improvement indicators (progress). We measure progress based on our Scale of Engagement. By measuring engagement we are able to ensure that we can build programs that allow for long term results. Knowing that for some people to transition from a situation of disadvantage, to one of equality of opportunity, there are several factors that need to be taken into consideration. Our scale of engagement also allows us to identify the missing piece in an individuals chance of success in a workplace or as a tenant, and even as a citizen. Engaged individuals make good employees, and an engaged person is better placed to make the most of opportunities afforded to them. Measuring engagement also allows us to have a wide and varied pool from which we can accept people in need of assistance. Some people are in need and further up the scale, requiring only a few things to help them reach an equality of opportunity. Identifying needs based on engagement allows the JBNProject to co-ordinate collaboration between relevant services and programs to ensure that individuals are not being placed in inappropriate services. The fastest path to an outcome is a straight line, so by streamlining program involvement based on what is needed, we are able to chart the path of least resistance to producing engaged, happy individuals. |
